Championship winning outfit Colards Motorsport will have three Ginetta G50s on the grid this season in the Ginetta G50 championship.

Clive Richards established Colards motorsport seven years ago based on 16 years of Motorsport experience. Colards have been tremendously successful over these years, never finishing out of the top 3 in any Championship year, and have 5 championship wins to their name. More recently, the Team have been noted for their Caterham running and are the current European Caterham Champions.

“With Caterham racing growing bigger and better each year, Colards have grown with it.  2008 is the ideal time to expand into the new Ginetta Championships” said Team Principal Clive Richards.

Richards will pilot a Ginetta G50 himself (right) with stablemates Michele Tommasi and
Clive Coote all looking for fresh challenges and establishing themselves as front runners in the G50 Championship.

Both Tommasi and Coote have driven with Colards in Caterham Roadsports previously. 51-year old Coote from Barnet graduated from the Caterham Academy in 2005 with a 2nd in class B and also raced power boats in the Honda 150 series.

Italy’s Michele Tommasi also ran with Richards and Coote last season in the Caterham Eurocup and Team Manager Roy Gillingham is confident the driver trio will excel in their 300bhp Sportscars.

“We bring a wealth of knowledge from GT and Caterham racing and will certainly be a force to be reckoned with’’ said Gillingham.
