Rob Austin Racing to Step Up to Ginetta G50's
Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship race winning outfit Rob Austin Racing will be doubling-up in 2008 to simultaneously run G20 and G50 cars.
The Evesham-based Team will expand to run four G20 cars and two of the new G50 machines.
Former F3 racer and team principle Rob Austin is recruiting his former number 1 mechanic from his Menu Motorsport days to take charge of the G50 aspect of the business. Troy Nelson will return to the UK from Australian homeland where he’s currently running V8 Touring Cars.
“We are all really looking forward to 2008” said Rob Austin. “Since LNT took over Ginetta last year there have been many improvements with the G20 package which is now a well organised and well run championship.
“These steps forward and professionalism inspires a huge amount of confidence in LNT making the G50
project a success and I am proud that Rob Austin Racing is a part of it and I would hope that over the next few seasons we could take the team and the G50's in to GT racing.”
The driver line-up has yet to be confirmed, but Paul Moden is expected to step-up to the G50 Championship subject to the correct financial support being found.
