Linn Steers Ginetta G50 to Podium #2
The Ginetta G50 gained a second podium in its second race at the weekend (13th / 14th October) racing at Magny Cours.

Team LNT’s Tom Kimber-Smith and former double Ginetta G20 Champion Stewart Linn shared the driving duties, taking a race apiece at the GT4 European Cup double-header.
Qualifying third in class, Tom Kimber-Smith (below) was lying in 2nd place behind the Mustang FR500C of Eric De Doncker, before a fuel pressure problem forced him to retire to the pits after a little over 20 minutes.

“This is the first real problem we’ve had with the car straight from the drawing board and we know the reason why it’s happened so all’s good” said engineer Simon Finnis.
Linn had qualified in 4th for Sunday’s 40-minute race, but passed Maxime Soulet in his Porsche Cayman to take third in his debut International GT race, and his debut G50 race.

“It was a good race today,” said Linn (left). “We’re learning more and more about the car every time we’re taking it out, but it performed brilliantly today, with no reoccurrence of yesterday’s problem. We’re pleased.
“This is our second meeting and the second podium. There’s definitely more to come from the car, and more from me, in terms of learning how to drive it. My first GT4 experience was very good – the cars were evenly matched, which makes for good racing.”
The Ginetta G50 will be put through its paces through further test sessions, but will also be out racing for the first time in the UK at Silverstone at the Walter Hayes Trophy weekend, 3rd / 4th November. Lawrence Tomlinson will pilot the newly-developed 300hp, V6 machine in the BRDC members race.
