More signings for Ginetta G50

Two further G50 cars can today be confirmed in having been sold for competition in the all-new 2008 Championship.

Ferrari 360 racer David Dove will contest the G50 Cup in 2008 in a move that will see him come across to Ginetta racing from the British GT Championship.

“I’m not saying we won’t do any British GT races” says Dove, “We’ll still keep the 360 in race trim ready to rock and roll, but we’re looking to run in a Championship that’s more economical and a lot more fun.

“We’ve run in one make series before and we’ve been happy and satisfied, had a few results and we’re looking forward to the start of the G50 Championship next year.

Ginetta Junior racer Tom Sharp will make the step up next year with his current team - IDL Racing Services. The ambitious team eventually plan to take the car and Tom into British GT in 2009 and Le Mans in 2010.

“Our aim is not to remain for too long in National racing” said Team principal and Tom’s father, Dave Sharp. “We feel that the G50 is the best opportunity to us to achieve our goals. Anyone can go out and buy a Porsche or Aston Martin but we’re looking forward to the learning curve and it’ll give us the most fun too!”

Both say they may yet place orders for a further G50 each if they have interest from drivers.
