Texaco Havoline Ginetta Champion Matt Nicoll-Jones and PlayStation Ginetta Junior Champion Nigel Moore both climbed aboard the 300bhp Ginetta and became the first people outside of the company to drive the sportscar.
“That was great fun” said Nicoll-Jones after three ten-lap sessions at the Welsh circuit. “The car’s great. It’s very, very stable and confidence inspiring, quick and will make for great racing next year.
“It was good experience for me because it was the first time I had driven anything like that.”
Both drivers impressed bosses by matching the pace mid-way into their first sessions and demonstrating their Championship-winning credentials.
“That was awesome, really good” said 15 year-old Moore. “The handling’s just so neutral from front to back it’s just brilliant.
“It’s a big step up from my Junior car – the power, handling, everything – the G50’s got so much bottom end and pull it’s unbelievable.
“It’s definitely a brilliant prize for winning the Junior Championship and I’m definitely doing the G50 Championship next year now so it’s been really good experience.”
Lawrence Tomlinson was also out putting miles on the G50, whilst production in the factory in Leeds continues to work towards delivering the 26 cars sold for the opening of the one-make Championship in March.
