G50 Eligible for Britcar

Following on from a Britcar test day at Silverstone yesterday (28th February 2008) the Ginetta G50 is now also eligible to race within the Britcar race series.

Ginetta’s Jamie Robinson was on hand to showcase the sportscar to Britcar officials (right). As a result, the green light was given to enter rounds including the Silverstone 24 hour.

“This is another great string to the G50 bow” said Robinson. “It’s another avenue that G50 owners can now go down with their cars in addition to the single-make Championship, British GT, European GT4 Cup and Belcar.”

An update package for the G50 will be available, although it is eligible in its current guise. A quick-release single-nut wheel mount, 120-litre fuel tank and rear wing are likely to form part of the kit and simply bolted to an existing car.

“For Ginetta to be added to the Britcar list is fantastic” said Britcar organiser James Tucker. “Britcar is renowned for its great mix of different marques of car so for Ginetta to be involved as well is great for everyone.”

Ginetta have had interested parties speaking to them already, so watch this space…!
