Ginetta G20 Winter Series: Brands Hatch Preview

Ginetta Juniors are no strangers to this Indy Circuit , with this being their third successive race at Brands Hatch. The main 2007 PlayStation Ginetta Junior Championship for 14-16 year olds racing the ‘Junior’ Coupe models of the Senior G20, was won by #25 Nigel Moore and he returns to clinch the winter Series title too.

First prize up for grabs for these youngsters is the use of a Senior G20 race car in the respective Championship and the next step up the Sportscar racing ‘ladder’ with second being an upgrade kit for their Junior car for 2008 - so top rewards are on offer.

Whilst Moore has shone previously, putting pressure on Moore wil be #8 James Jefferson (right). He’s been a race winner on the Indy Circuit before so is predicted to be in contention for honours.

#66 Dominic Pettit who ran well last time out to fighting through the field from the back of the grid, and #10 Tom Sharp could also be on the podium after his 3rd place standing in the 2007 Junior Championship.

Sharp is also one driver for whom this will be their last ever race weekend in the 1400cc car as the age limit forces them into other projects such as the Senior Championship. He joined the grid in the second ever Ginetta Junior race three years ago but will remain with Ginetta racing in the new G50 Championship.

Recently confirmed on the BTCC support bill for 2008, the PlayStation Ginetta Junior grids are expected to burst the thirty-car barrier as its popularity and reputation for developing race-craft increases as the Championship enters its fourth year.
