14-year old Jordan will progress from karting having beaten his rivals for his free season’s racing in the PlayStation Ginetta Junior Championship. The British Racing Drivers' Club Stars of Tomorrow is primarily a junior karting championship incorporating the British Cadet Championship.
Established back in 1996, McLaren boss Ron Dennis, Mercedes boss Norbert Haug and karting legend Martin Hines got together to create a junior karting championship which would provide a path for young drivers who wished to pursue a career in motorsport. A new name in 2003 and backing from the British Racing Drivers’ club give the Championship a fresh new look.
The British Racing Drivers’ Club acknowledges the importance of karting in both the education and development of youngsters interested in motorsport, but, also it’s importance to the British motorsport industry.
Graham Carroll was the 2006 BRDC Stars of Tomorrow Scholarship backed PlayStation Ginetta Junior driver. Ending the season in an astonishing 5th place in the Championship, even with two non finishes, Carroll was on the podium at virtually all of the races and is definitely one to watch. The 15 year old is looking to move to Formula Ford in 2007.

“2nd place for my last race made it a great finish to the season” said Carroll. “Especially so that it was at Thruxton, the fastest circuit in the UK and what made it better was that Carolynn Hoy was there to watch. I have had a fantastic year's racing which I could never have had with the support of the BRDC and Stars of Tomorrow.
The 2007 BRDC Stars of Tomorrow Scholarship drivers took part in a number of driving disciplines (Formula First, Saloon cars, Autotest and SkidCar) as well as an aerobic fitness test and a presentation to the panel of judges.
Chairman and BRDC representative was Barry Williams and his panel of judges were Sean Moriarty Motorsport News, Russell Atkins (Crash.net), Thomas Arme (2006 Scholarship winner) and Craig Copeland (2005 Scholarship Winner. The panel were assisted by Chris Ward (Chief Instructor, Silverstone Academy).
Two clear winners emerged, Daniel Lloyd and Jordan Lennox Lamb. Since the event, Daniel has decided that he will defer his scholarship for one year.
“Jordan has been racing with the Championship for four seasons, beginning in the Cadet class. He has always been a front runner in whatever class and I know that he will give 100% on track. Off track he has worked hard on his presentation skills and is supported by his family and I believe that Jordan will be a front runner in the Junior Ginetta Championship” said Stars of Tomorrow Championship Director, Carolynn Hoy.
Jordan added “ I am over the moon. If the calendar allows me I will stay in karting but Ginetta Junior is my priority now.”
Hepworth International are new to Ginetta racing for 2007, but bring with them 5 decades of experience from circuit racing, sprinting, hill climb and rallying on national and international scenes.
