Dear Fellow Ginetta enthusiast
As you may be aware, as of late 2005 the LNT Group acquired Ginetta Cars LTD under its LNT Automotive banner. The intention of this letter is to contact as many people as possible who have been, or are currently, involved with Ginetta in some way or another. LNT Automotive will be taking its time to understand the business and invest wisely in its future; we can only do this with an understanding of Ginetta’s customers and competitors. This letter will be the first of many communications planned through the Ginetta associated web sites and racing events, where we hope to implement positive change based on your input.
The LNT Group is of a diverse business spectrum; however the aspirations of LNT Automotive in both national and international motorsport are very much complimented by this Ginetta Sports Cars acquisition. LNT have also recently signed a long-term agreement to be the European agents for Panoz sports cars. For 2006, Team LNT is competing in World Sports Cars with the Panoz Esperante GTLM and has recently been notified of an entry acceptance for the Le Mans 24 hours. This will be the highlight of a very busy year, with the six Le Mans Series events throughout Europe and a championship campaign in British GT’s.
Our initial undertaking will be focused on providing Ginetta Sports Cars with both financial and human resource. This will ensure that Martin Phaff who has single handedly held the reigns at Ginetta now for 16 years can build from a strong financial footing. Martin has done a remarkable job in steering the company through hard times, keeping the name alive where many others would have failed. The British Ginetta G20 race series is the largest single class, one-make racing championship in Europe at this time with nearly 60 registered competitors for the 2006 series. All credit to Martin and we are delighted to have him stay with the company as MD, hopefully for another 16 years!
Let me take this opportunity to assure you as a valued Ginetta customer, and no doubt enthusiast, that as we are approaching Ginetta’s 50th Anniversary, LNT Automotive intends to compliment Ginetta’s rich heritage and ensure that this British brand goes from strength to strength.
Ginetta is very special for me and was a fantastic and valuable stepping-stone for my Motorsport career that saw my first experience of any type of racing in a Ginetta; 18 months later I was sat on the grid at the Le Mans 24 hour race. I sincerely hope that our current field of talented young drivers in the fantastic Ginetta Junior championship will look back on Ginetta as the name that introduced them to this sport.
I see Ginetta as fun, full of character and an affordable British Sports Car and I intend to ensure that this focus remains for our future programmes. Everyone involved with LNT Automotive is delighted to have Ginetta onboard and are excited for its future. Please look out for future news and announcements about our favourite British sports car.
Yours Sincerely
Lawrence Tomlinson
Chairman LNT Group.
