Ginetta 2007 Updates

Despite months of development work investment, Ginetta Cars announce that their intended move to 1600 cc Ford Sigma power has been postponed.

In the interest of applying an “If it aint broken don’t try to fix it” approach we have made the decision, aided by the fact that there is nothing at all “broken” in terms of the Ginetta G20 to remain with the Ford 1800cc Zetec engine.

The development of the Ginetta G20 will be drive train specific where we have listened to our competitor’s concerns in reference to the currently utilised Ford Type-9. Modifications to any 2007 spec Ginetta’s will be minor and non aesthetic.

For 2007 all new Ginetta G20’s will utilise a close ratio gearbox provided by a gearbox specialist manufacturer. Two options are currently being evaluated with regard to the drive train and partly consists of:

  • Type 9 derived 5 speed synchromesh close ratio

A decision will be made by December 2006. Please keep referring back to www.ginettacars.com for further information on 2007 gearbox upgrades available to all Ginetta Senior racers where price information will available soon.
