If you were reading the Telegraph this Saturday (Saturday 9 December) you might have come across an article in the motoring section. ‘Who wants to learn to be a racing driver?’

A great article on the exciting scholarship that Speedworks are running with the assistance of Ginetta cars. The winner of the Scholarship will receive a free season racing in the 2007 Ginetta Championship. The scholarship is limited to only 200 places and is open only to novice drivers over the age of 16. The scholarship will take place over 4 rounds with the competitors being whittled down after the first two. For the final day, only ten drivers will be invited back and the winner will then be decided. The end prize is worth well in excess of £50,000!

The entry for the first two stages will be £175 per round, and the semi-final will be £125 and if you were lucky enough to progress through to the last stage, the final is free.

The first stage of the scholarship will take place on February 7
