LNT Automotive now offer drive train
servicing and repairs
LNT Automotive now offer an in-house gearbox and differential servicing and repair service to all Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship and PlayStation Ginetta Junior contenders.
In the intersts of quality control, this latest service is offered as an alternative than sending goods to Quaife themselves.
LNT Automotive’s in-house qualified drive train engineer – Andy Brimabcombe – is also responsible for maintaining the high standards demanded by the Team LNT Panoz branch of the company. He will ensure that any repairs and refurbishments to your Quaife products will be given the same quality attention and dedication to minimise problems and reduce turnaround times.
The cost of the rebuilds will be as follows:
Gearbox: £95 +VAT
Differential: £95 + VAT
These prices are for labour only and do not include any parts.
Any rebuild will also come with a written report detailing the problem(s) that have been found by our engineer.
To prevent problems occuring, Quaife advise the following technical information:
• The correct oil must be used at all times. This is as follows:
- Gearbox: 75W / 90 fully synthetic GL4 spec. This oil is specially formulated for this generation of syncro gearboxes.
- Differential: EP90 hypoid specification oil. This oil is specially formulated for the crown and pinion on these diffs.
• The drive train must be fitted correctly. There have been a number of issues with incorrect fitting procedures. The following must be observed:
- The spigot bearing must be in-situ
- The clutch drive-plate must be correctly aligned
- The gearbox bell-housing must be fully home against the engine and not pulled up using the bolts
- The gearbox to bell-housing bolts must be correctly tightened
- The oil filler bung on the diff must be fitted with 30 – 35 ft/lb of torque
• Mechanical sympathy must be adhered to. It must be stressed that this gearbox will not stand abuse and harsh gear changes. The gearbox was originally designed for a road-going application and therefore must be treated as such. Flat shifting or heavy handedness will result in problems occurring.
