THE TEXACO HAVOLINE GINETTA CHAMPIONSHIP 2007

With probably the most significant news in Ginetta’s recent history, Ginetta cars are proud to announce that Texaco Havoline are to become the new title sponsor of the Ginetta Senior Championship in 2007. Texaco have supplied Team LNT with lubricants for the Le Mans winning Panoz racing team and the parts department for their road and race car production during 2006.

Texaco has a long and successful history of supporting global motor sport through their Havoline lubricant brand. In recent years the company has been pleased to support entrants in both the British Touring Car Championship and the British GT Championship. In 2007 Texaco Havoline will extend its motorsport influence and is delighted to become the title sponsor for the successful Ginetta Championship with all entrants using the company’s control fuels and lubricants.

John Jackson of Texaco Havoline said: “We have many opportunities offered to us in regard to motorsport sponsorship and given our long association with Richard Dean and his LNT team, we see the sponsorship of this up and coming series as an ideal fit for ourselves and our Texaco and Havoline brands."

LNT Automotive MD Richard Dean commented on the announcement “In Texaco we have a hugely credible partner for the most successful one make racing series in Europe. All Ginetta’s range of road and race cars use Ford engines and the Texaco product range is ideally suited for all our applications. Texaco have been involved in Motorsport and proving its products from F1 to karting for as long as I can remember. Indeed, Texaco with Ford engines and James Hunt in a McLaren won the F1 World Championship exactly 30 years ago.

“With Texaco, Ginetta now has the support and resources to take the series to a new level”.

Ginetta Cars managing director Martin Phaff said: “The series is on a high-profile racing package and it is fantastic to have a vital sponsor in Texaco Havoline. The prize fund will be increased for 2007, and the TV coverage extended. The competition will naturally hot up ensuring continued excitement in the Ginetta races.”
