2008 Ginetta Championship - G20 Specification Upgrades

Ginetta G20 upgrades available for 2008 have been confirmed as follows:

 

Compulsory Upgrade

Engine Kit (right):           
           - 115ps 1.8 litre Ford Zetec Engine
            - 45mm throttle bodies
            - Aluminium Radiator
            - Radiator Mounting kit
(water hoses, mounting brackets etc)
            - Catalytic Converter
            - Exhaust
            - New ECU map (existing ECU will be used)

Price:
            - £1695 +VAT (with exchange engine)
           - £1995 +VAT (without exchange engine)

The subsidised prices, above, are offered at this reduced rate to competitors until the first race of the 2008 season. Prices after this period will be confirmed at a later date.

Release Date            - November 14 2007

Why?     

- The existing specification engines are now very difficult to obtain. In order to maintain the production of cars for the race series in the UK, Ginetta now have a large stock of new specification zetec engines.

- The new specification engine, coupled with throttle bodies, offers more low range torque than the existing setup.

- The increased engine power requires a more efficient cooling system (radiator).

- The position of the radiator offers increased safety for frontal impact.

- New MSA regulations dictate that a catalytic converter must be fitted to all race cars.

- Car specification will then be fixed for a minimum of 3 years (subject to any regulation changes imposed by motorsport governing bodies (e.g. the MSA / FIA). 

Optional Upgrade available:

ATL fuel tank       - ATL bag-type specification tank
                              - Retro-fit fuel tank mounting kit

Price             - £695 +VAT

Why?      - The ATL fuel tanks conform to the latest FIA specifications.
