Green Light for Club Ginetta Series
Plans for a fourth Ginetta racing series can be confirmed today, 20th February 2008.
Club Ginetta will run this season with the inaugral race taking place at the Cadwell Park Ginetta Festival on April 6th.
Club Ginetta is open to any Ginetta G20 race car (right), whether it has had the 2008 engine upgrade or not. The cars will run on Michelin road tyres which are more durable and affordable than those used in the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship.
Aimed specifically at the Club racer, The Club Ginetta races will be one-day events as organised by BARC over 15 rounds on 7 dates and will cost just £320 per event – including VAT. However, there will be no Ginetta race centre or dedicated spares truck – except at the Ginetta Festivals.
The races will not be televised nor have the promotion package available to Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship competitors. However, results will be posted on www.GinettaCars.com

With the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship’s grid being capped at 32 entries, talks with BARC regarding the setting up of a secondary racing series began just over a year ago, catering for the 80 + existing G20 cars already in existence.
“We see the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship being the ‘Premiership’ of Ginetta racing” explains Ginetta boss Richard Dean. “The Club Ginetta series will be more your ‘Division 1’ racing for those people who cannot afford the engine upgrade kit and don’t need the extra frills provided by the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship.
“This new series is back to true grass roots, entry level racing where drivers with smaller budgets will be able to enter and shine with the ambition to progress into the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship.”
Aimed at privateer racers rather than professional teams, the one-day format will enable those racers who do not wish to be away for a whole weekend (or more) but want to experience the thrill of racing in a Ginetta G20.

The winner of the Club Ginetta series 2008 will receive the use of a brand new Ginetta G20 car in 2009 for use in the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship (left).
The Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship is a high-profile Championship consisting of identical Ginetta G20 cars supporting the SRO organised British GT/F3 and Ginetta G50 Championship race weekends.
A race centre and dedicated spares truck attends each race offering refreshments and technical support for competitors.
The races are famous for their close, exciting on-track entertainment and have been regarded as the pinnacle of Ginetta G20 racing for many years.
• Please note that this is not to be confused with a previously reported series named 'Golden Ginettas' - which was a private enterprise and not officially associated with Ginetta Cars Ltd.
