The ZA1348 is the engine specifically designed and manufactured by Zytek Engineering for use in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, which had its inaugural season in 2005. It has been produced using some of the most advanced design and manufacturing technology in the world. It combines theoretical analysis with the practical experience gained over many years of race engine design and development, for international one-make and sportscar racing series.
The single seater A1GP cars were all equipped with the same 3.4 litre V8 engine developing 520 bhp (550 bhp in Power Boost mode). With advanced Zytek electronic fuel injection, quad cams and four valves per cylinder the engine ensures exceptional power delivery. Made of aluminium alloy, the complete engine weighs only 120kg – making the ZA1348 engine one of the lightest 3.4 litre racing engines ever made.
