Racing Perfection and Ginetta today announce the launch of the "Racing Perfection Ginetta Scholarship" providing the chance for drivers all over the UK to win a whole season's racing in the 2010 Ginetta Challenge (formerly the Ginetta G20 Championship) with an entry fee of just £379.
The scholarship is set to test drivers on and off the track with professional driving instructor sessions, media training and fitness analysis. Anyone with a valid driving or race licence aged 16+ is able to enter with experience levels being taken into consideration at all stages of the competition.
Steve Bell, Managing director of Racing Perfection said "I am really pleased to be providing this opportunity for drivers. It has been our aim for a while to create an all round evaluation process to find and help talented drivers but also provide a great value for money event for all participants."
"The Ginetta G20 car due to its forgiving characteristics and highly controlled components is the ideal vehicle for this process. Ginetta has a great track record of encouraging young racing talent and is the ideal class for drivers to develop and progress within motorsport."
Professional driver tuition:
The scholarship will provide each driver with 2 track sessions with a professional driving instructor in a Ginetta G20. Participants will be evaluated on set criteria from smoothness of the accelerator to preparation.
Media Training:
Participants will be assessed on their ability to answer preset questions in front of the camera and in 'after race' interviews. Each driver will also receive media training to help unlock the secrets of getting the maximum out of each interview and PR event.
Fitness analysis and advice:
Having the skill to drive a lap quickly is one thing but being able to produce that level of performance every lap of a race can make the difference between winning and losing. Each participant of the scholarship will receive a fitness advice pack designed specifically for motorsport drivers by the Racing Perfection team's personal trainer. In addition each driver will be put through a fitness test held on each qualifying round, testing agility, endurance and coordination.
The Ginetta Challenge:
The Ginetta Challenge that sits on the Brit F3/GT package provides fantastic large grids, thrilling races and wide media coverage making it one of the most famous national race series in the UK and helped its expansion into Europe!
The championship is open to any G20 race car, including the G20 Junior coupes with sealed Ford Zetec 1.8 litre engines, sealed gearboxes and differentials. Combined with controlled tyres and suspension parts, this makes for the most popular, cost effective but highly competitive racing series in Britain.
